We all see many people in our day-to-day life, who looks absolutely fit and handsome, we see Celebrities all fit and smiling and healthy and we all envy them. We all think about the money they have spent on their body and justify our laziness that because they are rich, they can spend so much money on their body and lifestyle and can easily achieve their desired body and be lean and fit. But THAT’s THE LIE WE TELL OURSELVES!!!
Do you need money to get fit? The truth is yes, one does need a good amount of money to spend on a diet to achieve those Giga Chad body types. However, it is also true that “you don’t need such an amount of money to be fit”.
If you want to achieve an eye-catching, Giga Chad-style body then You do have to spend a good amount of money. However, if you want to look good, if you want to stay healthy and fit, if you don’t feel confident enough every time you remove your clothes in front of the mirror, then you don’t even need to make a budget for your diet.
All you need is just a normal conscious everyday diet and some basic workouts, which you can easily do from your home or Gym (preferably).
But, nevertheless, one question remains the same in all cases: How to start being fit and healthy? How to start being healthy?
How I started:
When I started my journey, it was the same for me. I was on the same page, all those insecurities, and hesitations were the same for me. I was also in the same blinds as you are right now. I was so skinny back then in 2016. I was also thinking of questions like, How to start exercising when you are out of shape? How to start working out at home? Or How to start being fit?
I was 5.7, 53Kg and so under-motivated that now that I think about it, it is so motivating and awesome that I decided to start this fitness journey and I am at my desired body weight. It does become a bit hectic sometimes nowadays because of my busy schedule with my Job. However, that’s the awesome part, once you get into this Journey, I guarantee that you will fall in love with yourself, and it is not just a physical transformation, it is mental as well.

How to Start being fit and healthy
1) Take a photo of yourself:
The first thing you should do is take a picture of yourself and use it as a way to motivate yourself. People take thousands of pictures in their lifetimes but only a few matters the most, Trust me,” This is the one”. This one single photo of you will remind you, why you started this Journey and, where did you start. The reason. You will look at it and later you will feel proud of yourself. And Trust me, this is one of the best feelings.
2) Set a realistic desired goal:
The second step of ‘how to start being fit and healthy‘ is to Set a realistic desired goal for your body type. Please keep in mind that it is a long and painful process. So, do not get demotivated by setting unrealistic goals. You can have fun as well while working towards your goal. (mentioned below).
How to set realistic fitness goals:
How to set realistic fitness goals? Do not think that you can get six abs packs within 2-3 months. Technically you can, but it completely depends on how much you weigh and what is your desired body style goal, what is your current diet, how busy you are, and what is your lifestyle. I mean It all depends on multiple factors.
What are fitness goals examples, How I set a realistic goal:
I was in college back in 2016 so I had time to spend. The major problem back then was to get a free diet chart on a budget as a student. I searched a lot and read a lot of articles but I couldn’t find any dedicated “Indian style diet in the budget for Students”. However, I did many experiments with exercises and diet, and with a lot of misses and passes I made it.
Today I decided to make one for you, with all my experience so that you don’t have to go through what I have been through. These short-term goals will keep you motivated and You can change your diet and exercises accordingly to the results. You need to set small sort time goals to stay motivated. You can set 1 month goal, 3 month, and 6-month goal. Then a long-term goal of 1 year-end.
3) Stick with it:
To be honest, the secret of being healthy and fit is simple and yet extremely hard to follow. You just need to be self-disciplined and stick with it. But, also don’t forget to give yourself some rewards now and then in form of a cheat day or meal. (FOR SERIOUS GUYS AND GIRLS): I would personally suggest you stick with diet and gym for a minimum of 90 days (excluding off days) before taking a cheat meal/day.
For those of you, who get a hard time to stick motivated with a strict diet and gym You can take cheat days as below. But, please consider How much it pains every day after exercise and how much mental power it takes to remain strict with the diet, before going overboard with the cheat day.
How often should I have a cheat day?
If you are asking, ‘when can I have a cheat day?’ I would personally suggest 1 time in 2 weeks, or when you are achieving your desired short-term goal as mentioned above.
Can I eat anything on cheat day?
How to choose a cheat meal? Personally, I would suggest you do not drink or eat sugar-rich food too much even on your reward day. I mean you can have 1 cold drink but don’t go more than 15gm of sugar even on that day. Other than this, you can have it.
You can reward yourself, with a drinking party with your friends and enjoy some drinks (if you already drink). It is okay to drink with your friends and have a light party as a reward. It is not like one day is going to mess up your whole hard work out because remember how it is a long and hard process to reach your desired goal and you cannot achieve it in a single day, If it is not the same, it is very similar here as well.

Benefit of cheat day:
From my personal experience, it is so much better to reward yourself once in a while than to stop yourself and be strict all the time and in the end, you end up demotivated.
Benefit of cheat day includes preventing binges, reducing cravings, providing a mental break from dieting, and boosting metabolism—if it’s done in a healthy way.
I want you to live and have fun as well, not just go on a crazy stupid strict diet and stop having fun. Let’s not ignore our mental health as well in the pursuit of the physical one.

Finally, Enjoy the fruit of your hard work and live a healthy and fit life. To be honest, I don’t even think you will go back to being unhealthy once you start seeing the results of your hard work. You will fall in love with being healthy yourself.
Conclusion: How to start being fit and healthy? There are no shortcuts in this journey. It is part of you, it is part of your life itself. There are no secrets in it.
If you are a person like me who procrastinate every time with everything and you think to yourself, how to stop being lazy? How to stop procrastination? then one of the tricks that I personally use and which works is just STAND UP!, don’t think anything and just go to the gym, or if you cannot, just start doing push up or any kind of exercise according to your level wherever you are. Don’t even think about clothes, or that I haven’t taken a diet or had something, just go or start doing exercise.
The first, step is to get out of your procrastination zone or comfort zone. This is the hardest step and easiest step once you have done it. If you are reading this article, lying on your bed, being lazy as usual. JUST. GET. UP. And GoFitFreak!!
Stick with it. Be true to yourself, love yourself, and stick to your goal. I am sure if you are unhealthy skinny or overweight you must have heard people commenting on you even as a joke or more importantly, you must’ve felt bad looking at you. Keep those feelings as motivation and keep grinding. It is your life, it is your body, It will become what you want it to become.
